Can anyone explain to me why, that since January 1 this year we have had, on average, between 15 to 20 new members join ....... A DAY ... which is well over 4000 !!!!
The vast majority have dodgy websites in their profile.
What's going on. ?

We`ve had nine join this morning already and it`s only 09 : 30. !!
So who`s approving membership. ?
22 joined yesterday.

It always used to be .. In fact people used to complain that approval for membership was taking to long or non-existent at times.

The exact number of new members who have joined since 1 January 2019 date is ... 4250 !!
Mind you, some can only manage 103 in two years.

I find it amazing that these people have nothing better to do. JosephCow aged 36, working in law for example, what did he hope to gain? I see you have the usual 'tricks' to stop bots and automated registration using Captcha, email validation etc, so I can only assume they are typing this stuff in! Why?

Well it`s obviously not working .. Who`s validated 4250 emails this year. !

What about StephenWhank who joined yesterday at 23:53.
His interests are .. Business networking ... A likely story with a name like that.

By the way, it seems that Gary and GoHost4U are not answering emails or PM`s so it looks like they`ve given up the ghost and deserted us ... So we are on our own.
But hey .. if we still keep getting new members at the rate we have been by Christmas at least we will go out with a bang .. 5220 . Mas o menos. .. lol

Not sure why you posted a laughing emoji Jimbo, the security on this site has obviously been comprimised which is a possible threat to all members personal data they have provided on this site.

If this site has been compromised...which I doubt .. then it`s been compromised since January this year and I`m not sure what `personal data ` you are referring to ..
The only `personal data` is your email address, and that`s it .. and then only if it`s in your profile .. mine isn`t.
So we`re saying that at the last count over 4000 people have compromised this site .. for what purpose.

If this site has been compromised...which I doubt .. then it`s been compromised since January this year and I`m not sure what `personal data ` you are referring to ..
The only `personal data` is your email address, and that`s it .. and then only if it`s in your profile .. mine isn`t.
So we`re saying that at the last count over 4000 people have compromised this site .. for what purpose.

Of course this site has been compromised, how else would so many people become members in such a short space of time, even in one day ?

There is no way this many new members would have gone through the Confirmation Code process when registering and then been approved by a moderator unless the security had been overridden.

Just because your email address isn't in your profile doesn't mean to say it cant be accessed by someone if they can breach the security of this site. You signed up to this forum by providing your email address and a password.

How many members would have used the same password to sign up on this forum as they use to access their personal email accounts elsewhere ? I suspect a lot.

People compromise sites for a number of reasons, some for the fun of it, some to build email lists of people that they can sell on, some to take down website and probably as freddo is finding out to spam a site.

Well it's been 'compromised' since January and if wasn't for me noticing the abnormal surge in new members nobody would have been any wiser and I haven' t noticed any unusual with any sites that have my email address.

Anyway obviously Gary and GoHost4U the webmaster, are no longer interested, so nothing will be done to sort the prob;em out ... so why should anyone else be bothered.
They have both seemed of have washed their hands of this forum and are content to just let it die by Christmas.

You say only e mails are at risk but if you look at the history in old posts some people have posted their landline and mobile numbers etc, so a good place for the scammers to build up information on someone, not advisable under the circumstances
