There are loads of different ways to scale and reduce a picture suitable for posting, one of the easiest ways to post pictures on here is :-
a) Go to http://www.photobucket.com
b) Open an account (its free!)
c) Upload your pictures, its as simple as clicking on this button (1)

d) Then click on the edit button > resize (2)

e) Select your photo
f) To resize them to a size suitable for the message board simply type 500 in the box I've marked. Make sure you have the 'keep proportions' box ticked or you'll get some funny results.

g) Save it as a copy then you've always got your original stored.
To post on the forum :-
(i) Still in photobucket find your picture in your album
(ii) Hover on the picture and a box drops down
(iii)Click on IMG Code to select it
(iv) Right click > copy

Paste it into your message, it will look like this :-
[IMG]http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c360/whatever you named your album/your picture.jpg[ /IMG]
That's it!
It sounds like a schlep but its really quick and easy once the account is set up and you get used to it. Any problems and I'll be pleased to answer them just let me know.
